A friend of mine first suggested that I may have bipolar. I had been suicidally depressed, but within days I was totally on a high, euphoric. Then, the next day, he asked me if I thought I had bipolar. That led to doctors monitoring me, and a psychiatrist's diagnosis, all within a few months. I have a much stronger support system than most - however, sometimes it still isn't enough. Maintaining treatment is the only way to successfully change your life. I am not in a completely stable place yet, but I am well enough to know that therapy has made a major positive impact on my life, and on the lives of the people that mean the most to me. I'm proud that I have sought help, accepted my diagnosis, and stayed in treatment.
