Doctors diagnosed me with a 'severe mood disorder' when I was a kid. When I was 18 I was diagnosed bipolar. I didn't know anything about it, I just constantly had really bad ups and downs that really affected my life for the worst.

I moved to a different state, which helped getting away from some things, starting over. Other than that, I pretty much just have to keep a structured schedule.
I didn't have anyone at first. My parents were a little preoccupied with other things, and I moved out of the house shortly after I turned 18. In the last year or so I've had one friend who is also bipolar and they have been helpful. They listen to me when I'm having a bad day, and being able to joke around about the things we deal with is refreshing.
I started a support group online for people with mental illness.

I'm 24 and have been living this way for as long as I can remember, but I haven't given up hope. Life has a way of working out, and I'm grateful that I have the friend I do have. I've started my own support group online for people struggling with mental illness in general, and I'm hoping that takes off.
I'm 24 years old and I live in California. I'm originally from South America and I grew up in Michigan. I am a programmer, Linux systems administrator, and I help out with various different open source projects.
I started an online support group for people dealing with mental illness where they can come together to play video games and chat about whatever.
