  • I would have loved to draw, but that's not what I was given. I started writing poems when I was 12. They were actuall pretty good. What they turned out to be my biggest coping mechanism. My Mom did something that left me free to keep using my coping mechanism. She never violated my privacy trying to read them. At 34 I copied my old book to my new pretty book and gave it to her. She had tears running down her cheeks. I smiled and thanked her for the freedom and told her to wait til she read it to cry. I did actually get 2 published. My Mom helped me help myself all those years.
